Teriyaki Stir-Fry

Ingredients:
Chicken
Rice / Noodles
Green Peppers
Green Onions
Zucchini
Carrots
Green Peas
Ginger
Garlic
Teriyaki Sauce
Sriracha sauce

First off you need to cut up your chicken and all of your veggies into one large pan. Meanwhile dicing some ginger and garlic into a pot along with Teriyaki Sauce and a little bit of salt & pepper. Leave the pot on simmer while your veggie's and chicken cook.

Next you want to boil water in a separate pot than the sauce and begin to cook your rice or noodles. In my case I am using Asian style noodles.

Once your veggies are nice and hot, and your chicken is thoroughly cooked you add the simmering Teriyaki Sauce into the pot along with the veggie's and chicken. Throw it on simmer and let it sit for another 5-10 minutes.

Now that the combination of Chicken, Veggies, Teriyaki Sauce and all of your other spices you may choose to include are all together and steaming it is time to eat. Place your stained noodles into a bowl and grab some of the Stir-Fry right from the pan onto your noodles to keep it all nice and fresh. Lastly for some spice I add some Sriracha sauce.

This meal is inexpensive, can be made in large quantities, is extremely healthy and of coarse easy to make. Also there are so many different variations of Stir-Fry you could eat it every week and not get bored. Some ideas to try are Shrimp Stir-Fry, Beef Stir-Fry, and just Veggie Stir-Fry. This is the perfect meal to cook for a date, your family, or if you're just relaxing at home by yourself.

Flacked Tuna Cakes

Ingredients:
Flacked Tuna
Spring Onions

Green Onion
Chili Pepper
Ginger
3 Eggs
Olive Oil
Fresh Coriander
English Muffins
Sriracha

First take the canned tuna and put it all in a strainer, drain the water out but not completely then put in a bowl.

Next remove the skin of the ginger and grate it into the bowl of tuna. After that chop some spring onions and fresh coriander. Next add one or two finely chopped chilies, depending on how spicy you like your food. In my case I used Chili powder. Add salt and pepper, then around 2 tablespoons of fish sauce. Lastly you want to add 2 eggs and start mixing it all together with your hands.

Roll the mixed ingredients into small balls and then pat them down lately so they form a small burger. Do that until all of the mixture is formed into small burgers. Put the tuna sliders onto a hot pan. Let them sit for close to 2 minutes then flip them for another 2 minutes.

Meanwhile toasts an English muffin until it’s warm and soft then place the cooked tuna sliders onto the English muffin. To finish off the meal top it all off with the condiments of your choice. I used tartar sauce and Sriracha hot sauce. This meal is great because it is so simple, inexpensive, tastes amazing, and it’s very healthy. This was one of my favourite things to make when I was very hungry but didn’t feel like cooking too much.

Spicy Steak Salad

Ingredients:

Sirloin Steaks
Red Chili's
Fresh Garlic
Olive Oil
Fish Sauce
Lime
Cucumber
Carrot
Radishes
Banana Shallots
Spring Onion
Baby Tomato
Lettuce
Peanuts
Brown Sugar

One thing I figured out very quickly when I started cooking is that you always need to start your meal with nice FRESH INGREDIENTS. Personally a few of my favourite things to eat are steaks and salads so it seemed suiting to put the two together into one spicy steak salad. First thing is to wash and SLICE ALL THE VEGGIES INTO ONE BOWL.

Next THE DRESSING. I cleared the seeds from the red chillies, diced them up, and then threw them into blender along with a spoon full of fish sauce, freshly squeezed lime juice, fresh garlic, and brown sugar to sweeten it up.

Last but not least the STEAKS. Nothing to fancy for me I just season them with a generous amount of SALT AND PEPPER followed by 2 MINUTES EACH SIDE on a nice HOT FRYING PAN. Hot enough you can hear the steaks sear when they hit they meet with the pan. Then take them off and cut them into nice thick slices.

Now to finish it all off MIX THE DRESSING WITH THE VEGGIE's in a large bowl. Not too much dressing, too much will make the salad soggy. Then put it on a plate and lay the pieces of steak on top. Lastly crush up some peanuts and toss them on as well. Then the only thing left to do is EAT AND ENJOY.

This recipe took NO LONGER THEN 20 MINUTES not to mention FILLING, HEALTHY, AND AMAZING TASTING. What I learned from this recipe is that ONE OR TWO PEPPERS is quite enough. I put in 7 or 8 not thinking about how hot they really were and the dressing was a little to spicy to say the least. Good thing I like spicy food, but my girlfriend was basically bawling from the heat by the time she finished her plate. All in all I would recommend this recipe to anyone, very easy to make.

About Me:

Hello, my name is Tyler Kearney. I am currently a 21-year-old student attending Sheridan College in the Advertising & Marketing program. I moved to Oakville when I was 16 from Ottawa, however I was originally born in Edmonton, Alberta. Since a young age I have always been actively involved in sports such as hockey, soccer, boxing, and kickboxing.  Unfortunately due to injuries I have had to stop playing sports competitively, but I will always continue to play for the exercise and  fun. When I was 18 I moved out on my own to Vancouver City working hard to pay rent and sacrificing most of my free time to whatever jobs I could find. While living on my own in an new city I started adventuring a lot into all the different cultures which eventually led me to a whole new world of delicious foods. I put aside my regular basic meals and began researching interesting recipes that appeared to take cooking to a way higher level. Once I tried a few of these recipes I quickly realized that cooking amazing tasting meals myself was not entirely impossible after all and actually fun to put together. Since then I have continued to make cooking one of my hobbies and will always make time in the week for some good home cooked meals.
